Robert’s drive and determination to achieve the best result for his clients, both emotionally and financially, is only exceeded by his ability as a lawyer.

Robert was educated at the University of Queensland, graduating with both a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce. Having gained more than a decade of experience in the large CBD firms, Robert believed legal services could be offered for a more fair and reasonable fee and believes the direct path in a legal matter is always the best path for his clients.

Combine his experience with Plaintiff and Defendant cases, knowing the strategies employed by large firms, together with diligent preparation, and Robert achieves sterling results. Proof is the amount of “referral” that has come through the door from our opponents!

Martene Witte

Senior Paralegal

Martene has over 30 years of experience working in law firms and when she first joined RB Lawyers in 2005, she was inspired by how many files this firm manages at any given time and the speed and success that those files are turned over. Martene soon found her niche, allowing her to be hands-on with the files in the area of law she thrives on.

Martene is enthusiastic about Litigation and Personal Injury and with more than 30 years of practical experience, she is an invaluable asset to this firm (her knowledge can sometimes run rings around our opponents and dare we say it….even some Solicitors).

Martene assists Robert with our growing litigation files in all aspects, and with her combined knowledge and faster than lightning typing and shorthand speeds, she is an asset that we rely on heavily and she is faster than lightning preparing Wills and EPA documents.

After a few WKD’s our staff agree she is a MUST to have around.

Angus Bakker

Paralegal

BBus(Econ)

Angus handles most of the accident claims that come into our office, but also is responsible for helping out with a lot of our firm’s more creative requirements. He’s handled a lot of tasks for us that require a proficient understanding of digital software, such as photo and video editing. These tasks could range from formatting various documents into one for ease of use, to compressing emails so that they go from 20.1mb to 19.9mb. If you don’t get that joke, it’s because Angus has already solved the problem for you.

Jennifer Watkins

Administration

Jenni returned to the work force after many years of raising her family and moving around this beautiful country of ours with her wonderful husband who has served for many years in our Defence Force. It was exactly that diverse experience that has made Jenni an integral part of the Practice Development in this firm when she came onboard in 2005.

The first impression of our business for clients is the face inside the front door or the voice on the end of the telephone, therefore like a lot of law firms, we place great importance on the selection of receptionist.

Jenni also stepped up to take on this role for us and her life experience of adapting constantly to new environment, together with raising three sons, gives her the patience, intuition and understanding to be this firm’s BEST “first impression”.

We of course just love her innate ability to “vet” calls….oops did we say that out loud?

Christina Bakker

Administration

Our hardworking and knowledgeable practice manager is the glue that holds the whole firm together. Yes, she is the wife, and yes, she has been known to want to strangle Robert on more than one occasion!
